Spring 2027 Proposal Form
Thank you for your interest in curating a show for The Eclectika’s Spring 2027 season! The Eclectika is an underground art space that focuses on providing a platform for diverse exhibitions, artists, and their works. Proposal submissions are open to any creative residing in the North Texas region that are over the age of 18. While show planning experience is a plus, it is not required! There is a suggested donation of $10 to submit a proposal. Deadline to submit is Sunday, September 20 by midnight.
We are currently looking for:
Curated group shows with 4 to 10 participating artists that focus on particular mediums, identities, cultural backgrounds, and creative philosophies. These will be hosted in our main gallery space
Small project space shows. Solo shows or small group shows (2-3 artists) will be considered.
Open calls and solo shows for our main gallery space will not be considered.
Below is a general guideline to give an idea how shows are planned and conducted. Some details may change in the future depending on the needs of the gallery and exhibitions.
Curator Requirements:
You are free to organize these shows as you see fit. As long as no one is killed, injured, causes damage to the gallery/ property, or does anything illegal or lawsuit worthy we will be fine with your curatorial decisions. The only thing we will insist on is the scheduling requirements, as we need those guidelines followed to keep our end of things organized.
The Eclectika's Involvement:
We will assist as much as needed/wanted. If you want full control over installation, promotions, etc we will give you the liberty to do so. If you need assistance with any promotions, installation, etc we are happy to assist. However, if you’ve not organized or curated a show we will collaborate with you to ensure the show's success.
Fees:
There is a suggested donation of $150 for accepted proposals in the main stage gallery, and a suggested donation of $50 for the project space gallery. We will not turn away anyone who is unable to make the suggested donation.
Scheduling Requirements:
Invitational shows/ curated shows need to be announced at least a month before the opening date to allow ample time for promotion. A promotional graphic, show title, and artists involved will need to be available at that time. Ideally, photos of the work that will be on view should be available for promotional use a month before opening as well, though we understand that’s not always possible.
Gallery Space Options:
This season we have two gallery spaces available, the main stage gallery (Approx. 60 linear feet) and our new project space gallery (Approx. 20 linear feet).
Installation and pick-up:
Installation should happen the night of drop off if possible. Ideally, a show should be installed early in the week so photos can be taken for promotional use. Pick up needs to happen right after the end of the Sunday reception, though we understand some special arrangements may need to be made for those unable to pick up.
Show Dates and Receptions:
Shows will run for two weeks. Opening receptions will occur on the first Saturday of the shows run from 6-10pm and a closing reception held on Sunday the following weekend from 1-5pm. Our team will be on site during receptions to run the event.
Refreshments:
Bottled water will be provided by the gallery for openings and closing, and you are welcome to provide additional refreshments that are of your liking. Alcohol can be served, but can not be sold and must be distributed by someone TABC certified.
