Linocut for Bozos
Sunday, October 11 from 11 - 2 pm
The Eclectika is excited to announce our Linocut for Bozos 🤡 workshop with local Royal Jester Kameron (They/He). Participants are invited to join the court as we explore this traditional print making method. We will explore using this method on paper and fabric as guests make their own linocut designs. All materials will be provided but guests are encouraged to bring any denim, canvas or cotton you'd like to use. Guests are encouraged to also bring an image they wish to transfer to the linoleum, just be sure the line work is bold and the image is reversed. The process is safe, but we do ask that you mind your table manners and not stick sharp objects or ink up your nose. This gathering of goofy-ness will take place Sunday, October 11th and will begin at 11 am and end at 2 pm. The workshop fee is $35, payable through our website.

Ghostly Blueprints
Saturday, October 24 from 11 - 2 pm
This halloween-themed workshop invites participants to learn an alternative photographic printing process that uses a formulation sensitive to UV light. Producing monochrome, blue-colored prints using halloween cutouts such as bats, spiders, spiderwebs, etc,.
Join us to create eerie silhouettes with all materials you need included but not limited to the spooky celebration. Participants are still encouraged to bring their own items/botanicals.
Feel free to dress up in your favorite spooky attire!
About the Instructor
Estephany Cazares-Peña is a first-generation Mexican-American photographer currently residing in the DFW area, whose work explores documentary practices as a relational act to record complex metaphorical conversations of cultural history between landscapes and people. Using photography as her main source of artistic expression, she documents landscapes that hold a collective significance of Mexican culture in an idealistic American lifestyle.
Estephany was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia and received a BFA from the University of North Texas. As a first-generation Mexican-American artist, Estephany’s expression is deeply connected to the current political climate under the United States' current administration. Through the lens of the rich Texas Landscapes and its historical context in relation to the land of Mexico, her work emerges from a place of resistance and care, advocating for her culture through the beauty found in its imagery.

Cyanotin: Miniature Blueprints

In this workshop, participants will make their own portable cyanotype studio kit for on-the-go. During the workshop, each participant will put together their tin with their corresponding materials and complete a short demo. Making sure each participant is equipped with the knowledge needed to make cyanotypes on their own. Each ‘Cyanotin” will be put together by each participant with the final options to decorate their Cyanotins with fabric and buttons. Participants are encouraged to bring their own additional decorations and botanicals for the workshop but are not required.
